Possibly the best located hotel in Torquay. Situated in a quiet tree lined road, only a 5min walk to the seafront. Recently refurbished and upgraded to 4 diamonds. Close to Riviera Sports and Conference Centre and Railway station. We are 100% no smoking. The Hotel stands in its own grounds and comprises three floors. The upper two floors are entirely accommodation and the lower floor has the dining room, bar, guests lounge, kitchen and access to the patio. The lower accommodation floor has level access for guests. This year we are introducing (all free of charge) internet access (WiFi) in all bedrooms, Digital free-to-view TV in all bedrooms, personal security box in all bedrooms and for those without their own computers we have an internet cafe available. We offer quality B+B in comfortable surroundings and most of our rooms are substantially larger than our competitors. However, our prices are comparable with many higher graded properties and yet we give so much extra. I'm certain that you will agree with many of our returning guests that the Glendower Hotel is the ideal place for exploring Torquay and south Devon.

The hotel derives its name from the enchanting Ansteys Cove, Torquay, once a smuggler's haven. Torquay is the heart of the English Riviera with the sunniest weather in England (most of the time). Ansteys Lea was originally a victorian gentleman's residence and became a small hotel in 1946, and is today a 24 bedroom hotel of great warmth and character. The hotel is situated between Torquay's town centre and marina on one side, and on the other side Babbacombe Downs with their magnificent sea views. The hotel is on the main bus route into the Torquay city centre. It takes a matter of minutes. Our Wedgwood Blue Dining Room is both gracious and welcoming. Its main feature being a superb bay window which overlooks our landscaped garden with its famous Torbay Palms. The high traditional Victorian ceiling with cornices and roses are a wonderful architectural feature. The atmosphere in the dining room is enhanced by several original signed pictures, and lighting designed to create the right mood. We have even kept the original brass 'butler's bell' should you need attention.
