The Dorchester Hotel (Town: Hull)
Rooms from: £39
The Dorchester Hotel is set in a conservation area on Beverley Road, just one mile from Hull city centre. The hotel was first built as 3 separate houses between 1863 and 1869 and still has much of its original character. Originally the Dorchester House, Tamworth Lodge and Stanley House, the latter was converted in 1937 into a guest house and by 1958, all 3 houses had merged to form a 58 bedroom hotel named The Dorchester. In 2002, The Dorchester underwent a major refurbishment and modernisation, not only bringing it back to its former glory and traditional style, but back to its original concept. Then in October 2006, the hotel was taken over by its current owners who gave it another refurbishment. Now operating as a 25 bedroom hotel incorporating the Sullivan's bar and restaurant, the Tamworth function suite and the Expressions night club; this is a building that has everything.
