The farm itself is next to the church of Sant’Appiano, built in the 9th century it is the oldest medieval Romanesque parish church in Tuscany with fine frescoes and paintings by the Florentine school of Ghirlandaio and Giotto, a baptismal font in pietra serena stone and delicately ornamented pillars and capitals.

The Sant’Appiano Farm consists of 15 hectares of vineyards, extending in a south-east position, at an altitude of 280 metres. The soil is mostly sandy-tuff and in some parts rich in fossils and grit. methods.
