In the 18th century, a mansion was built within the walls of St. Jorge's Castle. The mansion was classified as Historic Building and was then transformed into a hotel: Solar Do Castelo.
It has been brought back to life by a high-quality contemporary design. Besides the two floors and a mansard, an inner courtyard and gardens, the hotel possesses some Medieval remains, such as the cistern, which is believed to be part of the original palace's outbuildings.
