The oldest hotel in Wales, and the only hotel with parking in Brecon, this charming country house hotel boasts a peaceful location and extensive riverside and mountain views.


The restaurant and pub serve homemade pub food, local ales and ciders, and there is a riverside beer garden (the only accommodation in Brecon town with gardens and views). There is disabled access to all public areas and gardens. Brecon Castle also has conference and wedding facilities.

With 43 double/twin en suite rooms, some of which are suitable for families, disabled guests and pets, Brecon Castle has something to suit all needs.
Privately owned and family-run, the hotel and separate B&B combine a friendly atmosphere with efficient service and excellent, locally sourced food in its restaurant and bar/bistro. Food is served all-day, every day. There is off-road parking and Wi-Fi in all public areas. The hotel is dog friendly. There are extensive conference and wedding facilities at the hotel.

Directions

From London and Heathrow:
- Take the M4 motorway and Severn Bridge Crossing.
- Exit at junction 24 and follow signs for Monmouth (A449) and Abergavenny (A40).
- After about 14 miles branch left at Raglan to join the A40 for Abergavenny and then Brecon.
- Thereafter, follow the directions below.

From Birmingham Airport, the Midlands and North:
- Take the M5 and then the M50 and either exit and follow the signs to Hereford and then take the A470 / A348 to Brecon or else carry straight on the M5 to Ross-on-Wye. This road becomes the A449.
- Continue to Monmouth and 9 miles past, branch right onto the A40 for Abergavenny and Brecon.
- At the main roundabout before Brecon, take the left-hand ring road for Cardiff and at the next roundabout (where the A470 joins the A40) follow signs for the town centre.
- Thereafter, follow signs from the South and West Wales below.

From Cardiff Airport, the South and West Wales:
- From Carmarthen follow the A40 for Brecon. From Swansea and Cardiff in South Wales, approach on the A470.
- Unless you are very local, the simplest way to find us approaching the town is from the southern roundabout, where the A470 meets the A40.
- Follow signs for the town centre and continue for about a mile.
- After crossing the bridge over the river Usk at the traffic lights turn immediately left, signposted for Cradoc.
- After 200 metres turn right into Castle Square and you will see the hotel and castle from the bridge as you cross the river Usk. It's quite a landmark.
