Hotel Gutenbergs
Rooms From: £49
This family hotel is a historic building, built in 1880; cosy, lush and very typical of Riga, with a relief sculpture of Johann Gutenberg above the gates.
The hotel opened in 2001, so everything is fresh and clean.
At the same time, the furniture, paintings and crockery reflect the long history of the town, country and buildings.
The hotel is situated within a pair of 4-storey buildings, connected on every floor. The main building was built at the end of the 19th century and reminds one of a prosperous Riga or even a country baron's house. It also features 3-metre high ceilings, vast corridors with comfortable recreation areas and ormoulu candelabra.
The 2nd building is much older with an interior style echoing the 17th century.
For conference and seminar purposes, the hotel offers Johans conference hall on the 4th floor with a maximum capacity of 80 people, theatre-style, and 50 people, U-style. The price for the hall is EUR 35 per hour or EUR 214 for the whole day (8-hour minimum) with 18% VAT included. The hall is air conditioned and equipped with audio acoustic facilities. If necessary, the conference hall can be blinded. The price includes rent of a screen, overhead and data projector and a flip chart.
Near the conference hall is a small terrace with a view towards the Dome church.
There is a modern lift suitable for 10 people.
