Local Attractions
Saint Pierre Door
(1220 - 1236):Chateau Thierry counted four strengthened doors. Only, remains the Saint-Pierre Door, identical to three other doors of the city, the Saint-Crépin Door in the west and the Door of Beauvais in north, demolished during the Revolution.

Saint-Crépin Church
This church (15th-16th centuries)is the only one remaining out of the three parish churches that Château-Thierry under Ancien Régime counted.

Jean de La Fontaine Museum
Jean de La Fontaine was born in 1621 there. This house shows every sign of one of the most beautiful and one of the oldest private mansions of the city: the date of 1559 was formerly readable on the frontage.

The Old Castle
The currently visible walls and towers come from the successive campaigns of 9th - 17th centuries, most important being that carried out by the count Thibaud IV around 1220 - 1230.
