Cathédrale St-Saveur
A mix of Romanesque, Gothic, and Baroque naves built on stones from a preexisting Roman site. Carved panels from the 15th-century main portal remain in mint condition.
Chemin de Cézanne
A self-guided walking tour through the landmarks of Aix's most famous son. In his studio, the Atelier Paul Cézanne, the artist's beret still hangs in the corner of a room filled with paint-smeared palettes and the props he used for still-lifes.
Place de l'Hôtel de Ville
In the centre of the Square, a fountain designed by George Vallon recycles a roman column. On flower market days, aromas, scents and local colours, as well as the freshness of the fountain give this place a captivating charm under the sun of Provence.
Fondation Vasarely
This black-and-white museum is a must-see. Designed by artist Victor Vasarely, famed for his eye-boggling geometrics and development of 'kineticism,' the building contains some of his most monumental and original work in 8 huge hexagonal spaces.
